Lifelong Learning Programme
Action programme of the European Commission
On January 1st 2007 the European educational Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP) was initiated. With a budget of almost EUR 7 billion the biggest European educational programme so far encourages the exchange of views between learners and teachers of all age groups across Europe and the pan-European co-operation of educational institutions.
The programme also is to advance European co-operation in the field of educational policy and to help put into practice the objectives of the Copenhagen declaration in vocational education and training and those of the Bologna process in the field of higher education. It unites the existing programmes COMENIUS, ERASMUS, LEONARDO DA VINCI and SOKRATES under a common umbrella.
